I grew up in Colorado and discovered whitewater when I was in high school...I also discovered climbing.  I was a self described crash and burn paddler who had a high level of risk acceptance rather than I high level of skill.  After a few close calls I wandered away from the river and more into the cliffs and crags of the mountains.

Fast forward from the 1990's to now; I'm an ACA L4 sea kayaking instructor who fell back into the river last year after a trip on the Sky where I broke the bottom out of my old Crossfire.  Now I find I'm more likely to head to the river than I am to the salt.

I've been spending more and more time in class III and even did the lower Gorge on the Green at 6300CFS (a bit hairy) and I'm starting to to eyeball some of the IV test pieces such as the Green River Gorge and Boulder drop.

When I'm not working at my real jjob as a Project Manager with one of the larger electrical contractors in Wa. I'm the Sr. Instructor for Alki Kayak Tours as well as the Leadership Chair for the Seattle mountaineers Sea Kayaking Committee.  I'd like to to expand out Sea Kayaking Committee to all Paddlesports but, given the way that the Mounties are structured that may prove to be rather difficult...but who knows.
