My wife, Deborah, and I are new to WW kayaking. We took a ww kayaking class to improve our sea kayaking. Well, it may have done that as well, but mostly, it has made us much more interested in WW kayaking than sea kayaking! We took 3 classes with NWOC earlier this year (one on the Green, one on the Wenatchee in July at 1500 or 2000 cfs - low, and one in the surf @ Neah Bay) and have run Powerhouse on our own as well as a II+ section of the Mackenzie River (in Oregon) as of Summer 2006

In September, we did a raft supported trip down the Rogue River (class II-III) (we put the boats in the raft for Mule Creek but otherwise ran everything including Blossom Bar). We learned how to roll our sea kayaks last winter and attended lots of WKC pool sessions. My wife has a great roll on both sides - mine is good though is only on one side though I've finally started getting the offside roll this month (November 2006)!

We are looking forward to meeting lots of local boaters and running some of the local rivers. Have now run the Cedar, Yo-Yo, Wenatchee, Rogue, SF Snoq, Powerhouse, Headworks, Big Eddy, Middle Matheny Creek on the OP, Middle Sauk, and Boulder drop section of Sky (w/BD portage). All fun!

Other interests include: mountain biking, running, hiking, cycling, backpacking - basically anything outside.
