	Advice needed gang: My NRS boots are about shot so it is time for something new. I'm looking for something that is not only suitable for our action here in the PNW, but I'm also doing a Grand Canyon trip in Sept. with hiking, natch', so I need something that swings both ways. 5.10 Water Tennie gets good words, but I think they tend to run narrow and I have w-i-d-e feet. Welcome any thoughts- if you have the 5.10's do they ever dry (an issue boating here much of the year), how do they work, alternatives, thanks!

	I have the water tennies and have maybe a dozen or so runs on them. Compared to the various brand of booties these have superior grip and are a lot more comfortable. Good ankle support too - I'd hike in them no problem. They fit fine in the creeker - I know that is an issue sometimes, but I had no problems. Yeah, they take a while to dry. I have boot dryers normally for skiing and just stick them in the dryers.

	If you have medium or small feet the 5ten savant is a great shoe, it has a sturdier sole than the tennie but is a bit bulkier. I have large feet (13) and can only wear the tennie, anything else takes up too much space in the bow of my boat. The Astral brewer is a nice shoe, has the 5ten rubber, good construction, but a little too bulky for my large feet. I used them as my camp shoe on the MF salmon and they were a good side hike/ wading shoe.

	5.10 Canyoneers have done me well. Still going strong and have been using them almost everyday this year guiding and kayaking. Very good support and wouldn't hesitate hiking anywhere in them. I let them sit out overnight and they are usually dry by morning.

	I looked at the Astral Brewers and they look good except that low-top design has me worried that they might get ripped my feet in the heat of battle. Astral has a new shoe coming out that is more of a high top style called the Rassler, but not sure it is available in the USA yet.

	The brewers are actually pretty snug, they don't have any neoprene or elastic material in them so if you tie 'em tight, they're not going anywhere. If the tennie was made out of the same material as the brewer they would be pretty much unstoppable.
