  Other Issues

This is the OP not some fantasy land free of wood, be ready for wood.

[B] Don't follow Korb directions, some roads he uses were decommissioned[B/]

600-1000 CFS: low-medium, expect boulder gardens and clear water, much slower going.
1500 cfs+: great fast read-and-run with a slightly pushy feel and more pourover boofs and holes than rocks.

  Fun Facts

The Dungeness River is positioned in the Olympic Peninsulas rain shadow on the North East corner of the OP and is a good go to when the rest of the region is getting pounded with rain and everything is too high. Chances are if it's torrential everywhere else then the Dungeness is going to be a nice rain with medium high flows.

Run Description [Season: winter / spring]

This run is a great class III-IV creek run for that friend who is looking to develop more creeking skills and some of the extracurricular skills like portaging, making moves about wood, ducking logs, and blind corners all in a Class III environment.

The run starts out with fun rapids right off the bat and continues for the first mile or more before flattening out. When it flattens out expect to portage a tree or two, all portages will be a t river level and will be just walking around and back to the river. After about a mile of low gradient class II it will pick up again on it's way to the take out, a short gorge will present itself and the rapids are fun boulder gardens at low to medium low flows, 1500 and up they will be fun pour overs and holes with a faster pace.

The take out for this section is right below a rapid called Mouse Trap, this is the biggest on the run and can be scouted from a small trail on river right. Walk upstream from the bridge and take a look, it's a fast jaunt down the left past a large overhanging boulder that looks like it would easily collect wood.

Either take out here or continue downstream to the lower section for a solid 8.5 miles of wilderness paddling. At medium high flows this a great day, the character changes once you reach the confluence with the Grey wolf and become more big water class III.
