Yesterday some of us ran the drunk tank line at drunkards drop with success, just a fun steep green drop into a big rooster trail. Today it was flat. The rock that made the tank is gone and just big waves now.
There is a huge wave where trinity would be, but it's surgy. I've never seen trinity at this level so I don't know what it would look like but maybe at lower flows a good pile will form and our good friend will be back.
Rivers are cool.

Yes they are. That rock isn't just going to disappear over night because of a little high warter though.

It dissappeared because the river is high and its underwater. Yes maybe it will shift some, and yes gravel and sediment always gets distributed differently on the Wenatchee. It is a subtle process that occurs all season long each year. I doubt Trinity is going to return to anything like its former glory in a single season, though.

I'm sure it's just under the nice high flows. It was pleasant though not having it there. Huge waves.

Perty sure that rock rolled or broke or something. At 12k last year there was a 6-foot drop into the hole it formed, and now there is not even sign of a hole at 15k. That thing was sandstone afterall...

I ain't underestimating the power of anything. I wouldn't be surprised if it got moved, or pulverized either, because its sandstone and it is on the outside of the bend.

By the way, I didn't start paddling here, but in river years, I AM AN OLD TIMER, at this point. I may underestimate many things, but the power of rivers is not one of them.

Here is a link to a video of the Drunk Tank taken about a week ago; flow was 14,200.
Yesterday evening, at a similar flow, there was no drop, and Trinity appears to have reformed. Jeremy Bisson even got a nice surf after catching the left eddy.

I will investigate tonight and report back. I think at 14k the rock was pretty well covered up but who knows...

EDIT:
I'll even bring a camera..

I have photographic evidence, but I am holding onto it for the court case....

How about around 9kcfs-10kcfs? Anyone been on it at these levels yet?

I believe OG trinity was not in below 10. The opinion last night was that this version seemed to be in very nicely at a somewhat lower level than OG trinity. Definitely a chance that it may stay in at lower levels. I'll be putting on today @ 5:30 so we'll see.

Keep us updated! Also, for a greenish river guide who has always had the Drunk Tank to deal with, what's the line now?

Hey diddle diddle right down the middle is a big green bastard and cheap thrills. If you run a line down the left or right it looked like smaller waves trains with bigger hits in them.

Tuesday at 14ish there was just barely a foam pile at the peak. Yesterday afternoon I got in a few rides at about 11.8. Didn't seem quite as nice as the old Trinity but hey, a lot better than last year! Maybe it will shape up at lower flow.

I hope this helps the wave(s) that used to come in over on river right as well. There used to be some really fun surfing over there at levels below the level that rodeo was in. It seemed w/ the rock there there was too much surging to really create stable waves over there.

Whoops, you can't quote a completely benign post that has been removed.

I guess spontaneously exploding into a ball of flames at the tiniest hint of contradiction is an effective way of steering who posts what on this forum, but I'm not sure it's a good thing for PP in general.

The old trinity was in, in the last few years of its existence, in the lower to mid 9's and up to 12,500. The gravel bar on the right bank just upstream seemed to be changing slightly making the levels vary. I remember in the early to mid 2000's it used to need a solid 12K but as time went on it seemed to be coming in lower and lower.
