Topic: UCC - Safety Video Posted: 07 Dec 2011 at 6:15pm |
Full length video detailing Upper Cherry Creek in California. It offers innumerable simple, commonsense safety tips throughout.
This may be the best internet kayaking video I've ever seen. I wish more kayak filmmakers would focus on this type of project.

Yeah, it looked cool, but I'm perpetually stuck on the other side of the digital divide. Wish they'd cut out the pre-amble and cut to the chase on the creek. I already know how to hike a kayak.

Sounds like a good use of video- something with substance for a change. Kayak porn for kayak porn's sake is getting kinda boring.

Loved that video! Great tips and some great views of one of the world's most well known classic runs (one I will probably never have the skills/mental prowess to attempt myself). One tip I particularly liked was the one about clipping your rescue vest into your boat when you're getting out to free your hands and feet for gripping the shore. Seems so obvious now, but I'd never thought of that before.

Very well done and I agree with the Fiddler, a topic that doesn't get much play in kayaking videos. No one wants to look like a scrub on camera, but... we are all between swims. And it's good to know what to do when sh*t goes down. Two thumbs up. Thanks for posting, Ben.
