Rumor has it that Rob styled Log Choke Falls today. No media, no press, just a talented boater who thought it would be fun during an afternoon run of the Top Tye... Now that's a core boater!

Oh, yeah, and he's well into his 40's. Maybe there's a lesson there for the poster boys and girls of the sport.

Brett, can you post the details please?!

I had been running laps on the Tye all week. Today seemed like the last day it was gonna be good. 90's all week, then rain and much cooler temps meant the snowmelt was pretty much over. Classic Rob, about 50 yds above the eddy he says, "I might run it. I'm getting out over here," pointing to the left eddy-ish looking area on the other side of the creek. I got out of my boat, not thinking twice that Rob was about to run Log Choked Falls. I got down to the big rock, next to Box Drop with my rope. Sam was there, too. We both were excited and a little nervous. Rob scouted for about 15 minutes, then gave the thumbs up!! Sam and I were about as ready as we could get. It took Rob a few minutes longer than I thought, I was tensing up, just waiting. Then.. I could see something whirring through the tree branches. It was Rob's paddle. I could see him paddling for a few seconds, then he rolled off and plugged 'er on in. Down for a three count in the landing and then he surfaced and was shot right. Rolled up and paddled into the eddy before running Box Drop!! Classic Mckibben. Sam was bitching a little because Rob didn't call anyone to film it. Soul boating at it's finest. Go Rob!!!

Whew, I'm glad I don't have to spend all that time portaging that drop now ;) Props to Rob Mckibben.

Is there anything left on the HWY 2 corridor Rob hasn't run.  I guess Deception Falls and the Snow Creek Death Trap might be about it but I think those are out of the question.
