If that does not get you stoked I don't know what will, perhaps flying down it in 90 degree weather into a phat river filled with commercial rafts!!!
Yotes were going to need to make sure the PA system makes it, I see a very significant portion of the Ball being spent at the Ramp with the Tunes A crankin!!!
Amazing work Adam - Keep it up!!! That is looking awesome!!!

It dispenses cold beer and makes you instantly more desirable to all women. This ramp is SICKKKKKKK! Its so gangster that Adam's employer (name withheld) was forced to take out a hazard policy after the visiting CEO's daughter was found foaming at the mouth, shaking uncontrollably and sputtering something unintelligible about raw ultimate power... She has since changed her name and moved to Wisconsin. This thing has to be handled with 10' poles and a leash at all times.
Even Chuck Norris gives it a wide berth...

Next time we'll get a taller fork lift. Almost time for a dry run. Any doner boats for launching across the shop?

I got one with a nice crack in it. It's all yours if you want it. I'll even bring it by if I can watch the test launch. It's an old Riot Dominatrix.
Oh Yeah , and I have 4 stages of 3' Wide X 7' Long X 6' Tall scaffold. I think it is too narrow and unstable for what you want it for, but it is available if you need it.

WOW!!!!
when I ran into you guys at Home Depot, I had NO idea! Dream Big, they say...
That is looking really awesome, guys! Adam, way to put thrust behind the ramp construction-- I am inspired and Impressed.
The whole ramp thing is a bit too Evel Knievel for me, but it's obviously a proven crowd pleaser-way to go! I'll have front row seats for the action!
As far as pre-event installation, here's a suggestion that may make sense:
If, for example, 10 people show up to help assemble it the weekend before, It may be a good idea to try to organize the work in shifts.
It's likely gonna be hot and sunny working beside the river on that thing- maybe consider breaking the crew into two 5 person shifts or whatever makes sense: While one shift is working the other can be lapping the playrun, then they can come back and relieve the working shift, and take turns that way.
A little organization like that will keep the stoke level up, so that everyone gets to cool down in the water for a bit and no one feels like they are the ones stuck toiling in the hot sun while others (who'll reap the benifits later) boat all day.

Theres a rumor that a brand new 2010 creek boat OR playboat will be in the massive pile of gear that will be raffled off this year...
A very generous LOCAL sponsor has decided that this is great way to raise the Stoke level to an all time high.
Get amped people. Pictures to follow.

Since I'll be bringing the PA system for the event, and seeing as there were a few musicians hanging around camp last year, I was wondering if there is any interest in an open jam by the campfire on saturday night? I can bring some extra equipment to make this happen if there's enough interest.

I gotta say this:
Dan and Adam- you guys have totally inspired me with your drive and determination to make this event happen this year!! The photos of the ramp in progress, and those awesome, hilarious photos of Dan sporting the swag-- you guys rock!!
Coming out there this weekend to see what's going on and help some with ramp assembly (even though I have NO intentions of using it!-- I support the cause!)
It's critical though that we work in organized enough shifts so that people can take boating breaks. So that everyone can keep the overall stoke level up and the vibe super positive on an unprecedented level!!
-cuz I gotta say: Icicle and Nason are calling my name!

Cool! I was just checking about this. I had fun pickin guitars last year and I think a jam would be awesome. I can bring my cheat book with lots of easy song lyrics and chords, music stand, mic, mic stand. I have a 50w battery operated amp with a PA channel that can run a mic, but if you got a PA, that shouldn't be necesary. I'll bring a guitar or two and amp.

Just a few questions from a PP Ball newb:
1) Is there a picnic table at each campsite? (The campground looks like a big, open field from the satellite view.) 2) Is it okay to park by your tent or is there a separate parking area? 3) Do we need to bring drinking water or water for washing dishes? 4) Are there showers? (Yeah, I know. This is probably wishful thinking...) 5) Do we have to register or check-in with the campground owners/operators when we get there? 6) Is it okay to arrive on Friday?
Thanks, John

Day-um! That's alot of fine swag there!!!!!
Doggie, here's the answers to your questions as best I know, until someone more qualified comes in:
1- No tables, yeah it's just a big field by an orchard 2- Yep, park by your tent is OK 3- I believe there is a hose that's OK to use, but might be good idea to bring some of your own anyway. 4- There's a huge running bathtub right by camp several thousand cfs worth 5- PP should have volunteers checking people in. last year they did that by the campfire area, not sure if it's the same this time 6- Fo' shizzle

1) No 2) Yes (parking is generally near your tent, but it is kind of a free form event that way, i.e. you'll need to try to self organize with the other event goers. Seems to generally work out. 3)Yes. Absolutely bring your own water just to be safe. Also, be extra conscious to pack all of your own garbage out. This ain't Woodstock. 4) No. Questions like that will no doubt arrouse suspicion. What kind of dirt bag kayaker are you? 5) Something like that, but it ain't all that official. There won't be any octagenarians chasing you around in a golf cart. Maybe in about 50 years, I'll be there to fulfil that role, but I doubt it. 6) Absolutely. Hope to see you there!

Two comments on JP's Answers.
This year we are going to try and have seperate parking and camping areas so that no one gets blocked in or has there tent run over. We are hoping to have a large turn out so we want to be sure to have plenty of room for everyone.
Also, This is not a "campground" It's private property on loan to us. The check in will be on the way in. Hopefully via a maned check in table.
Please everyone bring cash. We can not take plastic. We will make a price list post later today but camping will be $10 and All you can drink beer will be $10 (you will get a wristband)
We realize this is more than most kaykers usualy pay for camping (free) but that is because we are raising money to help support Matt Thomas. Please keep that in mind, this is a party but also a fundraiser.

All you need is two R2 teams to race. That's two rafts and four people (unless you want to have an R1 race!
Anyway, I would potentially consider it, if extra partners are needed. No gaurantees though till the event and we see what all is going on.

I'm heading out this afternoon/evening.I got word that there are already some other DBK's over there...
Gonna check FITWah on the way over. Maybe run it if someone else will be there or if it's low enough that I feel comfortable going solo.Text me now if you want the Cup Report.

Forget you should not:
Today is not only the start of the ball, but Talk Like Yoda day, it is! As the honorable Jedi Master you should speak today, or the path to the dark side you take.
