Who knows where the fault lies in this one. It is suspicious as all hell that the mayor has not stated why he suspended the chief, but I work in a town that fired its police department for misconduct from the top down, and I have had problems with small town mayors on power trips.

I wouldn't want to work there right now either way!

I think the issue here probably has more to do with small town politics than the drug war. Not that legalization wouldn't solve a slew of other problems.

yeah- humans are ridiculously political in all facets of their existence.

"I don't know if we'll win the war on drugs, but I can tell you today we won the battle,"

Whatever- statements like that are so simplistic- crafted specifically for a newspaper. Prefabricated, even. Every "battle" just prolongs a "war" that can't really be won. Only perpetuated.

Meth is the real problem anyway. And the way we allocate funds to deal with society's drug problem. Oh well. People are all gona do what they do. It ain't neat and tidy. I'd rather just go the speed limit on my way to the river, put on and forget about everyone else in the word who has to behave like a sh*thead for one reason or another because they are addicted to drugs, violence, politics, or all the above.

I'm going boat'n!
