We're Washington DC boaters who would like to get hitched in our favorite state, the Left Washington.

It is going to be this Oct/Nov so must have an indoor option and be natural/scenic and hopefully near the water!

We started paddling in DC so don't know much about the PNW kayaking, but hope to learn about it as we make regular trips to Seattle. SYOTR.

Thanks.
David

That would be a great option, but my girlfriends brother was married there. While that was a great location and event we're trying not to repeat it. I thought it was an ideal location for us though.
Thanks for the suggestions, keep 'em coming!

was hoping for an indoor ceremony option with a strong connection to the outdoors near the water...i know asking a lot. not sure flaming geyser has that. looks cool though.

the ceder river watershed center is a top option right now.

Sleeping Lady Lodge in leavenworth does indoor weddings, is right on Icicle Creek, and definitely has an outdoor vibe to it.

Hows this for a random chance meeting - I met Dave and Margot (congrats you two!) when I was back in my home state of MD in May kayaking on the Potomac River.  They never kayaked out here, and I never kayaked out there before.  Now all three of us boat where the others used to live.

While on my way back from Bremerton today (buying my new-to-me truck) I ran into them on the return ferry!  Margot got out of their car and asked me if I was a kayaker and if I had been back in MD in May.  Sure enough we had met when I was there.  They were out on the Peninsula checking out wedding sites.  We spent the boat ride back to Seattle catching up and sharing kayak pictures.  As another side note, I met their friend Calvin up at FITW the evening that he mashed his thumb on the Fearsome Foursome.

I would have found this whole chance encounter even more suprising had I not had similar encounters happen on numerous times already in Seattle.  The kayaking community, and the world as a whole, are never as big as they seem to be!   Cheers to random chance!  And best wished to the bride and groom to be!  Look us up when ya'll are back in town to do some boatin'!

Yes indeed it is a small, small paddling world. A great pleasure to see Jeff and his photos and descriptions of local runs on the ferry yesterday. We definitly will have to get back and try kayak in the area soon.

He was particularily lucky on his visit to MD in May. He had a chance to surf one of the best features on the Potomac, http://www.potomacpaddlers.com/centerchute.htm - Center Chute , which is usually only in a couple to half dozen times a year.

Thanks for the well wishes and suggestions. The search for a venue continues.

The Sleeping Lady in Leavenworth is where we're going to do it in 2010...

It's very nice, laid back, great accommodations, tons of events places, worth the trip to check it out!
