I am forwarding this from Val Schaull, a friend of mine who volunteers with Team River Runner:

Some scumsucking mother*%$#er stole my friends boats. Kevin Pannell is a double leg amputee disabled veteran. The other bad news is one of the boats didn't belong to him. It was borrowed from Sam Drevo. The boats were stolen last night in front of Kevin's apartment near Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, OR.
Kevin had classes at the college this am so he asked me to post the boats. Those of you who know me know I'm a rafter so give me some slack on describing the boats. One was a yellow Habitat-80, the other was a white, Liquid Logic. Sam says it was a Ronin 59, Kevin says it was a 250 CR. Kevin will post more when he gets out of class.
I don't know all the places to post so if some of you could pass on this info to other lists I would appreciate it.
Val Shaull

The culprits deserve the 'dirty sanchez' treatment, followed by  a 'cleveland steamer'.

I know it is a long shot but if you can get the serial numbers off the boats I can check Oregon and Washington pawn shops online and see if they pop up anywhere.

I will check it out when I get back to the office on Monday and let you know. If you haven't done so already make a police report. That way if the boats pop up somewhere it is a lot easier to recover them.

i fear for the thief's safety on the river. river karma, while not easily quantifiable, is certain to be served in wrathful abundance to he who stills a boat. this we know.

see you in the funny papers

Kyle, would you please share the site's URL where you can check serials at pawn shops?

Thx,

It is a data base for cops. The information cannot be made available to the public per our contract with the company that maintains it. If the search comes up with something I'll have to pass the info onto the officer assigned to the case.
