What are we to do this weekend? There will be a major flood event over the next two days, though levels should be back down (somewhat) by the weekend. While we could stay local, I propose we aim for a Lewis trip. Who is interested? - Leif |

Wenatchee @ Peshastin is forecast around 12,000+ cfs so you could always come over and surf the best waves in the state on Fri and Sat then run Icicle or Tumwater on Sunday. Upper Tumwater will be a fun big water III-IV and the main Tum will be juicy IV-V. Icicle should be in good shape by Sunday probably a bit higher than last Sunday.
There will be a local group of us out if anyone would like to hook up.

Matheny could be in again this weekend. It took 3 days after the peak of the last storm for it to come down to 10-15K. It looks like it peaked last night....

Matheney Is great at 30K to 40K.
ran it last saturday.
the upper canyon would be a deathtrap but the middle and lower runs are grat fun. no wood in any of it, or at least problem wood, if you keep your head up you'll be fine. above 40K there's a riverwide log that at 37K was 4 feet off the river. you really don't want to swim any of it though.
some of the holes in there are huge.

Retarded?! Me down with any of the aforementioned options: -Matheney (only if we actually stay on mission and do it) -The Grays(see above side note) -Icicle in November? Hard to argue with that. Several folks I boat with have indicated they are only in for Sunday. So far, I haven't gotten much interest in doing a full weekend trip. I'd like to, but it would require rallying a few more folks... For a road trip, my vote is CC Lewis. If we stay local, money creek would be on my list, as would JP's suggestion of upper Nason. I am not sure about doing the Wenatchee thing. We get it so much in the spring, seems like we should focus on what only runs this time of year. That said, I'll follow the crowd... ------------- |

Yeah. Icicle and Wenatchee are extemely low priority for me. When I think of Icicle, I think of hot sunny days. Right now I'm enchanted by steady downpours, grey skys, and short winter days. Hey Leif - I met you a few weeks ago at the UPS pool. How are you?
I'm going out this Saturday, thinking of the Chehalis ( it's half way between my brother and I), either Rainbow Falls to Meeskill, or Pe Ell to Doty. Any opinions or advice on those runs, or other suggestions for something II-II+ about halfway to Portland? |

Foss would be good. That's fun to combine with the last mile of the Rapid.
But my vote is the Tilton if it stays above 1600 or so. It's coming down fast unfortunately. |
