Booty Beer Rules:

Defined: If you swim, you must drink 1 beer per swim out of a booty at the take-out.

General Rules:
1. Booty rule is not in effect until you have a good roll and generally don't swim.
2. Booty rule only applies if someone remembers about it.
3. Drink any beer (even non-alcoholic if that's an issue) usually out of your own booty. Booty drinker has say over booty and beer in the end, regardless of what any dirtbag at the take-out tries to tell you.
4. No excuses! In the words of Charles Taylor "This is what separates us from the animals!" and the tubers, I'd add.

Always remember that no matter how good of a boater the person enforcing the booty rule is, you will get to remind them of the very same rule at a take-out some day - sooner than you probably think.

Personally, I think this is something the swimmer should be requiring of themselves after they swim. So instead of waiting and hoping no one will remember as listed in rule number 2, the swimmer should be insisting and looking for a beer to pound from their bootie just so that they can prevent the inevitable negative karma that will pursue if they neglect their responsiblities to the bootie.

You don't paddle w/o a sprayskirt, you don't swim w/o drinking a bottie.

sounds like you IKers are in the clear.  But I know of a rafter that drink booty beers every time he flips (he usually makes his girlfriend do it too!)  He is a pimp.

Its a good thing that the more beer you drink, the less you care about the 'bootie' you get.  Bootie's bootie and beer's beer is how I see it

I've always thought that skirt implosions should be exempt from a bootie beer.  There isn't nothin you can do when your skirt blows after a blunt or something else un-expected.

as opposed to the "expected" swims?

a swim is a swim...blown skirt, busted paddle, gashed face, it does not matter.

I guess that is why i paddle my boat to shore after my skirt is blown, then it isn't a swim.

If you self rescue (that means yourself and ALL gear), Does that = no bootie beer?

Swim =

Period!

I recall this summer on the Box I had a little dip, caught my shizz and got back in with no assistance but still had to bootie up... D1insisted and despite a good effort to evade the request with only him around I finally gave into what is truly the Rule.

So out of honor I do my duty and when I finish I see him digging for his camera saying I have to do another one cause he wasn't ready... Whats up with that... But you know what Same trip that summer he self rescued and had to bootie up too ....

The rule stands!

if you're a solid boater, and you swim you gotta accept the responsibility of the booty.  it really should be a law written in stone at the putin.  it's also a good reminder to keep your booties clean, cause i swear my booty funk gave me a stomach uck some years back.
