Thursday? It is a bit high tomorrow, ,,,
Gordon can I borrow your paddle?
Seriously, I could be game for this! I have no Huka demos, or other demos available for this run! Check out Srk or OAC. If you go, grab me a paddle

I think Leif was making a funny when he said to take a demo. Any dealer whose demo boat is broken on Super Slides would be totally within reason if they held the customer liable for damages.

This run is a good reason to hang on to that old, cracked creeker you'll never sell for much money anyway. A little duck tape, some extra foam under the seat and off to the Slides you go.

Oh, and take an old paddle you don't mind wearing the edges out on.

I do not have the surface area to spare on my paddle Tobin.  It isn't old, it is just the decrease your risk of shoulder injury paddle. I cannot skip thursday or friday classes, but if it holds till saturday...

It is a great run! The beginning sucks, 3 portages right away, but when you get to the Cispus it becomes worth it.
I was joking about taking a demo boat from one of wonderful local dealers.
I would never do anything like that
I might be game for tomorrow, if it holds through Saturday, I am def in!

I'd be in for this on Saturday, as well; however, based on the gauge, it looks like it probably won't hold that long.  I'd love to run it, though.
I wonder what I should demo from SRK

You might want to check for snow on the road before you drive all the way there. The put in elevation is pretty far up there.

not to mention that the gauge correlations are for snowmelt -- those correlations are notoriously bad at predicting flow on rain events.
that said, if it's really in and a trip happens sat, I'd love to get into this one!

uh ditto what Kyle said... the elevation at the put in is like 3500' so this was for laughs cause I thought for a moment there it sounded like someone was serious about this springtime classic.

Although I don't have a map handy, it's probably the highest normal PI in WA.  I'm guessing over 4000'.  And if the Cispus is flowing 7600, don't worry about wear and tear on paddle or boat.  It's a classic, unique, and usally either scrapy or scary.  When its at a normal flow a lot of boaters classify it as class III slides with potential consequences.  At the same time, when the water gets high, a lot of good boaters have hiked off.  The normal comments as the levels go up is something along the lines of "too low, too low, too low, oh shit".

If there is a guy I wanna be stuck in the snow with: Its Leif!  (did that sound gay?)
Seriously,  he's got a grip of food in Chilie, cleaning supplies, the ability to pass time with republican converstaion, not to mention CC values. hpw could you go wrong?

I'd love to, but the data I looked at on the Gifford Pinchot website doesn't look good.  What are you doing, Tobin?  I am thinking (unless someone has a better idea) of doing something in the sky drainage - either the sky itself, or some creeking...
  Thoughts?

I'd love to do CC, but I am concerned it won't be close enough to 1000 for my liking.  Also, I would have some concern about getting there given the I-5 closure.
