This is the The Pits discussion thread. Please post any questions below.

Remember the actual Trip Details are located on the The Pits | Trip Page

If the forecast holds, the Mosh Pit will be going off Tuesday. I will not go alone. (too far of a drive for one person given the price of gas) (how much can I get for just an arm?) Let me know if there is any interest, I live 5 minutes from the Edmonds Ferry.

I'd be in if it were in.
I live in Port Angeles so can't help much ridewise.

I'm sure they are working hard to get things open, it is the major connector. You can go out 112 and then connect over Burnt mountain (HYW 113?). Probably less than an hour longer. 112 is notorious for being affected by weather.
I bet things could be good Wed. It could be blown out tomorrow. Anybody have a better (more informed) prediction? Is anybody making plans??

Holy cow I just checked http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/traffic/trafficalerts/default.aspx?refnum=130271&action=2
and 112 is closed as well.

Allright, The Mosh Pit got pretty high today, but is now on it's way back down. The DOT is now reporting 101, and the Hood Canal bridge open. It may still be on the high end tomorrow, but looks good to go. I just need someone else to commit for this trip to be on. There are a couple of people who will be calling later tonight, so if no one joins here (but is still on the fence) I'll let you know later tonight if it's a go and the details.

don't be fooled boys,I have been out there all day long trying to get back to PA and what a mess of things ol mother nature has smacked down on us out there, Mass trees down on both highway 101,112 and at least 3 slides across the road on lake cresent all roads coming and going are closed and not even going to begin clearing them until some time tomorrow, O  by the way,I have never seen the solduc so high, If it quits raining right now, maybe wednesday at the earliest it will be in.I tryed to drive in there this morning and couldn't make it because of all the trees down to get some pic's  maybe i can tomorrow...........hoov

Here's the deal,I just got back from looking at the mosh pit and the water level was still at the very back of the cement  troff where you put in at and the wave was just starting form. So by morning she will be in great shape. There is one small problem to get there you have to go on HY112 from Port Angeles it takes an extra 15 min ,no biggie,Weather is looking to be good also. The big tree and root wad that was behind the wave is gone.See you there...........Hoov

OK. There is a really good chance I will be going tomorrow. Just one person committing to carpool from this side of the sound would make it certain. I am planning on the 7:00 ferry from Edmonds. If anyone is interested you can post or call (my number is at the top, area code is 206) up to 11:00 tonight.

Nope. The Mosh Pit is in great shape. The eddy is clean and it's a loooong clean wash downstream.  Hoov will have to tell you the hand story, all I can say is that I think it was hurting him but not that you can see in the vid.
