This is the Ballard Locks float discussion thread. Please post any questions below.

Remember the actual Trip Details are located on the Ballard Locks float | Trip Page

I'm taking a newbie through the Ballard Locks for his first time in a whitewater boat.  I've always wanted to go through them and he wanted to hit the lake before getting on the river.

Meeting place is TBD so call me if you want to go. 425-891-8286

We'll be going over basic strokes, swimming, bracing, and maybe some rolls.

I'll be trying to loop the entire time!! "Angry"

Should be fun, feel free to join us.

Ryan

We need to lube up that steep grassy hill to the SW of the locks and launch into the water ski jump styly. Can I meet you there tomorrow to get Mr. Leaky back?

So they let people take kayaks through the locks?  I would have figured, given the chaos of larger boats in the locks, that they would prohibit kayaks, jetskis, and other non-licensed boats...

I went through it last year spent a long time in line - an hour as they would only let us go through the smaller lock.

As Leif said above this might be because of the chaos in the larger lock.

I'm not being notified of these replies.

Erik, do you still want that dry top tonight?  Call me if you do.  I'll bring it along.  Now I have to wear my Mr. Leaky who is much more leaky than yours!
