Now that I watch it again... That is rob no question.. and it looks
like the drop pictured is Horseshoe on the Icicle at a healthy flow.
The fact that it said Midwestern Kayakers have done this year... made
me just assume it was not Rob... Guess it is not in the midwest and I
guess its not all midwesterners...
Maybe they just needed to infuse a little PNW goodness into that video for flavor and action.

That has to be Rob. Not only does is look like hime but the drop about 1/3rd of the way through looks remarkably like "the Plunge". Plus, the intro where they are hiking looks like the Icicle Gorge Trail next to the Upper, Upper Icicle.

The beginning is hiking out to scout the falls section of the Callahan Im showing Mont. Marks buddies the run. Brock made the whole vid. Mark told me about it. Thats the Plunge near the start and Rob totally acing Horseshoe. The very last vid is Joe (Mark's buddy) running the 20fter on the Callahan for the first time. good gob finding the vid. James. The Icicle and the Callahan, Two total Northwest classics!!!

That is so cool... were all connected after all... I think I sent a PM to a guy named Brock earlier today that just joined.
I did not recognize the Callahan drop... nice that is cool, I love that thing, and nice job to Rob on working ole Barney down Horseshoe with such style.

If the guy in the purple dagger isn't Rob then it's his east coast twin.

It is Rob, Montana, and Brock. Brock is from the midwest as is Montana (currently). I have the video and am about to sit down and watch it. Funny you found it on the net after this long. I thought you had a job James. I didn't know you sought out obscure paddling flicks. This brings me to another point relating to obscurity in paddling flicks. And sort of a shameless plug. SRK is going to have an amateur film festival. The details as well as the date are in the works. I'm mentioning it so you aspiring videographers and film students (Jake) can whip some shit up. This will be a good year for running some new stuff after the flood. I think what is so cool about amateur paddle flicks are that they usually spotlight runs we already know. Like PDX. Lookin forward to it.

Hey guys! Brock here. I am the one that made the "Not for Show" video. It is FREE so if anyone wants one just send me a private email with your address and I will zip a copy out to you!
You are right....that is Rob running Horseshoe, hiking on the Callahan, opening drop is Brian Aho running the plunge all at very healthy flows last spring. Believe it or not Rob is actualy from the midwest. The movie was mainly to show our core group (montana mark, brian aho, joe carroll and myself) and the paddling we did over last season. 90% of the film is in the Great Lakes region and the freakin awesome creeks in the area! We just happend to take a trip and did some paddling with Rob, Johhny, Doc and Crazy Climber Dave! We actually have plenty of favor and action in the great lakes region and I hope some of you get on the goods out here. I just wanted to put Rob's ugly mug on the teaser wondering if anyone would recognize him.....not to mention that is the part that says "no helicopters, fireworks, glitz or glamour" b/c we all know Rob is a true soulboater. Regardless, it is a fun film with some obscure class V runs in it that you won't see in any other vids out there.
While your are surfing the web you might as well check out my shameless plug and visit www.wavedogpaddles.com
They are sweet bombproof paddles that aho, jon and myself are making/selling. I know people in the PNW would find these to be their new weapon of choice!
~Peace~

That clip looks familiar, later that day old robbery gave the SCUD a go and ran the same drop with a barrel roll goin over the lip. Good times on the icicle.

That's why I partaged the shoe all three runs that weekend, it is not the funnest thing chasing a boat down a healthy flowing icicle creek.
