This is the Middle Middle Sunday discussion thread. Please post any questions below. Remember the actual Trip Details are located on the Middle Middle Sunday | Trip Page Jimmy and Courtney are getting a rare chance to paddle together and want to run the MM this Sunday. Predicted levels say it's going to be about 1500. We'll go as long as it's above 900. Otherwise it'll probably be the Sky. We'd love to have a fun group paddling with us.

I think Deborah and I are in. If levels rise more than prediction (prediction now is at 1800) we may have to look for something else or some real encouragement!!
One question though, will Jimmy have his glasses with him?? Or should we stay as far away from him as possible!?!

I always have my glasses with me, I just don't always wear them.

If it's not to high, then I'm in for a cold wet Sunday run! Oh, not to low either!

Also I see we are starting the trip on the year 2007, but finishing in the year 1900. Do I have to bring my own time machine or will one be supplied? Oh, and can we stop around the year 1988, I have some things I need to take care of?

Sorry dave, unless you can supply your own time machine it's already too late to join the trip.

Dave, Do you know something I don't about the weather forecast on Sunday?? They are predicting it to be really warm (okay for this time of year) - in the mid 50s. Levels don't look so favorable right now though; we'll keep our fingers crossed arn

Well if it warms up a bit, we may get some snow melt and the Middle might sore out of control, but it may just come up to be just at the right level. So lets hope for around 2000cfs, that would be perfect.

Part way down river we will stop and stash kayaks. Then we will each cut down a tree with a somewhat sharp rock, and make our own dug out canoes to finish the trip in, without modern dry tops or neoprene. Also, you will have to paddle your dugout canoe with a stick. Because we are safety minded, we won't do this until after we are past House Rocks.

Arno/Dave-
What gauge are you guys looking at? The NOAA site shows 501cfs at 10:00 tomorrow. Am I looking at the wrong guage?
On the chance that I am looking at the right page, can we schedule the Sky at 11, as I have a long drive from the south end.
Give me a call this evening to let me know what's up. 253.347.6969

Scott, The projection for tomorrow has changed 15 times since Thursday. I think that Courtney/Jimmy said that if the MM wasn't above 900, the trip will revert to the Sky. As I write this, the level is rising ever so slightly on the MM but it still needs to come up a lot to hit 900 (it is 650 currently).
As far as time, meeting location, that is clearly J & C's call as this is their trip and they may have kiddie constraints that is driving the time. But, for the record, Deborah and I can meet at 11AM or 10AM so it doesn't matter to us (11AM is, in fact, slightly better).
Courtney? Jimmy? Are you going to make the call in the morning regarding the river? arn

Yes, I think we will make the call in the morning. I'm an early riser so I will be looking at the computer at 6am and will post something. I need to talk to Courtney's Mom (our baby sitter) to find out what time we would need to put on the Sky. It's warm but the North Bend weather report says it won't rain there before tomorrow night, but that doesn't mean it won't rain above there, we'll see. One thing is for sure, we will be paddling somewhere. The birthday cake was good! Has everyone been looking for a sharp rock?

Looks like the middle isn't going to be high enough for tomorrow and I have to stay local, so I'm probably out for tomorrow. Have fun on the Sky!

Josh and Jason are going to join the trip tomorrow. If we go to the Sky tomorrow, I am going to bring some chili and hotdogs for a little after run snack. I could be convinced to break my BHW cherry. We can meet at 10 for either run.

Here's the pictures from today's trip. Including the BD swim and subsequent boat rescue. I apologize if I got anyone's name wrong. If I did, let me know and I'll fix it.
I enjoyed getting to paddle with everyone and meet lots of new folks. Later.

Nice pics, I will hang my head lower next time I do the "Walk of Shame". I did not expect to use the skills from last weeks SRT course so quickly.
Thanks to everyone that helped get my boat back.
ps. Its Adrian not Adrien
