Chelan County PUD is accepting comments on a proposed $200k improvement project to construct parking and toilets in Plain, Washington for the upper section of the Wenatchee River from Plain down to the Highway 2 bridge at the top of Tumwater Canyon. This is a laid back section of Class 1/2 water, perfect for introducing friends and family to the river, or just getting out to float on a sunny summer afternoon.

Also, this would be a nice place to take out from a run on the Chiwawa River.

Send in an email to Chelan County PUD. Comments are due by March 28.

Thanks,

Chris

re:     Support for improved river access - PUD Plain Substation

Jeff:

I strongly support improving river access to the Upper Wenatchee River by the proposed construction project at the Chelan County PUD substation at the corner of Beaver Valley Road and River Road at Plain, Washington.

The Upper Wenatchee River is a beautiful river stretch. As a Class I/II section of river, this run is appropriate for families and a broad group of people seeking to get out on the river.

Limited parking and difficult access, particularly for rafts, create safety considerations that would be alleviated by the proposed improvement project.

The project would expand the recreational opportunities for area residents and visitors.

Thank you,

[your name]
