I am in the South visiting my wife's family and other friends and spent last weekend at the whitewater center. Incredible place. Now, I am not complaining or taking for granted the fact that we have incredible beautiful close nearly year-round whitewater in the Seattle area - that is a huge blessing! - but the whitewater center was incredible! My favorite part was all the people and boaters and great community environment. And consistent play-holes. Eddies were circular and weird and the whole river was "surge-y",but it was a super cool experience. Two more days this week!

Indeed it was. I paddled in a paddle jacket shorty and shorts. And the kicker is they have a conveyer belt that feeds you back up from the pool at the bottom of the two channels (one with two branches, both class 3, one channel is class 4 and quite beefy!)... You never even get out of your boat and you are back up top!

As someone who used to live a couple hours away, water will get bathtub warm later in the summer.

I am headed to Charlotte at the end of August. Unfortunately, I am flying so I won't be able to take my boat. Do you know if they rent there or is there another shop in the area that you can rent from? Thanks - Butch

The do boat demos, $15/hr $25/day if I remember correctly though it's been a couple years. You have to have your own other gear though.
