Just discovered this gem last night!  What a classic...  Before it was even cool to brown, I guess it was cool to make jerk off motions!  (Still is cool in my book)

Even has some aftermath footage of the hurricane that tore through Salt Lake City during Outdoor Retailer years ago.

ENJOY

Makes me miss my old school "play boat".  Something to be said for having a longer, lower volume bow and stern boat.

Awesome Travis! Take it from me, someone who paddled a Diablo for 12 years, it is cool to boat something different. The new creekboats are pretty F'n Rad, in general. I didn't feel that way about the Jefe/Huka era. I feel like just in the past 4 or 5 years creekboats have really become sophisticated, intentional designs. I love my Shiva.

Speaking of Eras, I just watched Buck Fever last night over at Gordon's-- been awhile. I never paddled any of those boats then- I was Diablo all the way. So I'm not the best at rattling off the boat designs as they huck and chop through everything on screen.

Playboats is right! Those death traps they are paddling are pretty much barely puffed up squirt boats. I mean they were starting to get the volume around the cockpit idea and some good edges and even some sidewalls but still super pointy and low volume on the ends... I'm surprised the manufacturers didn't just print "Verticly Pin Me" on those boats. But really, the Diablo wasn't much better. Those guys really boated good in those things in that video though-- I sure as hell wasn't running those kinds of stouts then.

Doesn't it make any of you playboaters want to bring back the slicy cartwheels, slicy freewheels, ect.? I think the truth is you had to be a way better boater to cartwheel those things in the places they do in that vid. But I don't know. I can't playboat my way out of a wet paper bag. Well, I could, but it wouldn't be playboating.

Anyway, that is a classic now, for sure
