Ok everybody, there is a meeting to help stop the proposed hydro development of Ernie's Gorge aka Black Canyon, on the NF Snoqualmie River.

If you have the time please come out and let your voice be heard.

If you have never boated Ernie's and never have and intention to, that's fine, but please come out and help stop the destruction of one of the most unique runs in the state.

The developer has contracted with a consulting group named Confluence Research and they will be the group that conducts the recreational study to see how and why we use this stretch of river.

The meeting is this coming monday at 7pm at the North Bend Railroad depot.

The address is : 205 McClellan st, North Bend.

This company is mainly looking for information from Ernie's regulars, but that's just not how we roll! Who cares if you've never boated Ernie's or only boated it a couple times. If you do not want to see this precious resource lost, come out and explain why. Explain why we need whitewater in our lives and how it positively impacts your life. If you have the time, I would love to see any and all of you there.

Pretty sure Confluence is Bo Shelby and Doug Whittaker's group that did the study on Chelan Gorge. Good folk to work with.

It went well. We still need more participation from the community.

The company that is pushing the license is about halfway through the initial permit application process. All of the survey data and study information collected will be submitted to the FERC in early February of 2014. So, if you get any Ernie's laps this Fall and Winter, please provide the requested information about your trip.

I will post the pertinent website info as soon as I get it. Thanks to the people that sacrificed time with family to come out last night.

Dan- I am out of state right now and was unable to make it to the meeting and did not see this in time anyway. Is there a way for me to get involved from afar?
