Heading to Colorado mid June and looking for people to boat with! We'll be in the Salida, Buena Vista, and Golden areas of Colorado. Also looking to perhaps go to Poudre Canyon. Any river beta, looking for Grade 3 runs, or anyone who'd like to show us around would be awesome!
Cheers, Megan

The Arkansas around Salida and Buena Vista have a bunch of great runs. The Numbers section and the Royal Gorge are amazing but contain a couple IV's. In the Gorge you can pretty much walk around anything you don't want to run via the train tracks, but be careful as they run tourists trains in there still. Brown's Canyon stretch is a III along with multiple other stretches being class III's. Also, Buena Vista has a great WW park along with Salida, Pueblo, and Golden.

Unfortunately they are by the Royal Gorge. The access highway is currently shut down. In addition, someone drive into Clear Creek, closing done the local class IV after work run. Car still in the creek, no survivors but it's unclear how many were in the car. Crazy day for Front Range rivers.

Do yourself a favor and hit up the Poudre. My old stomping grounds....CO's only wild and scenic river. Less of a sh*tshow than the Ark. Though I love the ark too. Do Stevens down. Check out the Mishawaka..concerts every weekend. The Poudre is a must IMO
