I just picked up an old Current Designs Storm in plastic. its got nice curves. should be a good touring performer... BUT the caveat is that the seat /outfitting is crazy lame.
seat is plastic and the back band is a joke. its like a plastic plate. it might as well not have a seat.
I was hoping to just install a new seat from Wilderness Systems or from liquid logic. i dont think their seats will probably fit to the contours of the boat, but i am sure that i could jimmy something to make it decently solid. But Wilderness systems wont sell me one because of liability reasons.......
Necky sells one that is made for recreational boats, and im skeptical of its ability. http://store.neckykayaks.com/products/310591/Active_Comfort_System_%28ACS%29_Seat - http://store.neckykayaks.com/products/310591/Active_Comfort_System_%28ACS%29_Seat
any suggestions on finding a new seat for a plastic touring boat?

i've got one of those necky ones from a boat long gone that you can have.
otherwise, just get some foam blocks and carve yer own arse groove with a knife and dragonskin. then glue it in.

Redfish Designs makes foam seats that match the contours so you don't have to. I believe they include some Dragon Skin so you can match it to your contours.
