With rain at Stevens pass , looks like TT and Foss will be Sky valley options this weekend.  We have been getting on TT at around 8k dropping= -2" tree.  Some folks have been hitting it higher.  I noticed it was in (low) at 6k = -8"@tree.  So it is likely in now as rains fall at pass level ....

You think the Foss has enough water?

Christian- Foss will be to low. We were up there last saturday at 7.25 feet and it was 1' on the foss river bridge (medium-low by your standards). http://www.nwrfc.noaa.gov/river/station/flowplot/flowplot.cgi?id=SSSW1 - http://www.nwrfc.noaa.gov/river/station/flowplot/flowplot.cgi?id=SSSW1

Don't know why this gauge is overlooked so much. Much more accurate for SF drainages than the Gold Bar gage. 6' on this is usually a couple inches above the tree. however last saturday more water/rain was coming from the foss. water was 4-6" over tye tree at 7.25' on sf gauge.

my guess with it being 5.4 right now you would be getting 8" below tree or less. the tye that is.

Darren, you are right about that guage being a good reference... just takes some getting used to and the levels change dramatically between rain events and just on snow in spring.  Last Sunday a bunch of us did 2laps and it was a couple inches below tree Sky falling 8k.  I went by there Monday morning next day and it was still 'in' 8" below tree Sky falling from 6k.  So hoping tommorrow to  see 6-8kon Sky maybe... or maybe not depending on snowlevels.

Agreed Mike. There may be differences in spring and winter (rain vs snow). but... there are way fewer variables with that gauge then the Sky at Gold Bar.
what days were you on the tye. you should post the dates and corresponding levels. I've posted these in the past hoping to get some traction on using this gauge.
if your gaging off the south fork you don't have to deal with any variable of the north fork. and with winter rains that is where the big variables come in.
might get up that way tomorrow morning.
Darren

Never knew about that gauge. But now that I do, I'll start using it. Darren is absolutely right about accuracy. That gauge will eliminate a lot of variables.

By the way, Darren. Call me in the morning, whether you are heading to Robe or the Sky drainage.

so at this moment doesn't look like TT is going to go ... snow levels are too low.
