Anyone know how to get a hold of Whistler boaters?  I'm going up there next week and thought I might try to find some guys to boat with.

Just go there and you'll find them. The canadians are super friendly and very willing to play guide and help with shuttle. not sure what your looking for but good luck finding anything but the cheak at low flow to paddle but they are people still paddling it.....

The Cheak is all you will be boating there. Maybe fear canyon as well, unless it starts raining a bunch.

Here's a Facebook group based in Whistler - just search for Whistler Whitewater if the link doesn't work.

Unfortunately many of the Whister locals (raft guides) have moved on for the season, and the water is quite low (too low) on everything so it might be a little more difficult than normal to find a crew.  It's supposed to start raining on Friday, so maybe flows will come in nicely for a fall session before the snow starts flying.

The road along the ashlu is magic! Canadian non-kayaking shuttle drivers appear out of the mist right when you get off your run eager to help you set shuttle even if they are driving in the opposite direction. Herbal enthusiasts greet you, eager to replenshigh your mojo which may be dry from the border crossing. Contrary to popular belief, our neighbors to the north are a highly civilized race.

Watch out for people that look like FedEx delivery personnel in Whistler. Those are cops, and they are looking to give you and your dirty boatermobile a ticket. You may be tempted to ask them if they have a package for you to sign for. but they likely will not appreciate that comment.
