Found this listing on Craigslist. My instincts say it's stolen. Anyone have a green villain and two piece werner sherpa stolen?

http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/boa/3249865389.html

Could be wrong but the text reads like this: "it a small kayak it forlike peaople 5 5 it like a jackson or some thing its prity kool call or text 425 246 o four o five no leaks has sweet padle u know u want it make me a deal dude" I'know we boaters are not the top of the economic pyramid, but everyone I know can at least write in complete sentences, also $200.00 is pretty low for the gear.

If someone with a PDX kayaker account could post there that would be cool.

Critiquing my grammar, are you? :)  Just kidding, I think you are right, obviously someone who knows nothing about the gear.  If someone did get their stuff stolen I sure hope they see this and get it back.

It's all fun and games until someone loses a paddle.

Call them, go look at it.. and write down the serial number without saying anything to the dude while he watches you do it. Note his reaction. Then walk out to the front of the house and write down the address if he acts weird. If he becomes defensive write down his license plate number. Should he become hostile call 911. If you would like an escort I would be happy to go with you :) Crime Fightin Creekers on patrol, bitches. [:^:]

I actually thought it sounded like a really young kid. I figured he probably found it on the river.. or, was given a gift he didn't appreciate.

why not!

The guy was super cool and returned it to me. I did pay a finders fee and tried my best to keep possible angst down in the transaction. He totally did the right thing. Thanks you guys for all of the advice and support. I feel lucky both to have the boat back and the support of the community. Jim

Nice work - Always a good idea to post up when you lose gear. I found a paddle on craigslist someone posted about losing in the middle of the summer.
