I think you were thinking of Mr. Fission (maybe fusion, but that's even more complex).

The real value seems to be that you could plug your nissan leaf or tesla roadster into that little puppie and then all you would need is very understanding passengers that don't mind you having a day long lay over here and there during a road trip ... well that and a constant supply of seasoned faggots.
