I finally filled out and paid $50 for my application for NEXUS. This means you can speed past the border lines into Canada in the fast lane. It's going to require an interview in Blaine and then the pass will be good for 5 years.
The catch is that everyone in the car must have NEXUS to be able to use it.
That means the more people that get these the better! If you travel to Canada frequently I think this is worth the effort.

You know there will always be one person in the car who doesn't have it. :)

It's all fun and games until someone loses a paddle.

Hey Ben,

The money spent on Nexus is more than worth it - I also highly recommend it.  Even on the busiest of weekends there is essentially no waiting in the regular lines.

An added bonus (at least in Canada) is that there is usually a fast-track lane for Nexus holders at airport security checkpoints, and you can bypass big immigration line-ups when arriving by airplane from out of country by using the iris scanner that you can optionally sign up for.

See you up here soon mate!

Not necessarily in Ben's car :)

And if I get one, I'll probably only cross with another pass holder. It's not a bad deal, but it does sound like it has the potential of creating a sort of "second class boater". Not to mention the Iris scanner.

Still. I might get one. I'd like to go up there more this year.
