For those of you who haven't seen it yet, I thought I'd give a shout out for the recovery effort for kayaker Matt Thomas, who as many people know was paralyzed in a mountain bike accident two and a half years ago.

He's asking for 300 people to sign up to donate $20 a month so he can attend Project Walk in California.  I'm a huge believer in the ability people have to accomplish big things if they join together on what is a small scale individually, not to mention that if I were in that position - and it could happen to any of us, obviously - it would be great to know people were backing me.  I know just the physical therapy part is hard enough already.

Matt's goal is to get 300 people to sign up to donate $20 a month.  His hope is that this will allow him to stay in Southern California at Project Walk indefinitely rather than moving back to Oregon each time the funds run low.  If you're looking for a good place to donate a little money each month, you wont find a more deserving place for it to go.
