The day has come that my dry suit is become less dry and more moist. I've noticed a few places where the seam tape is starting to peel up. I was wondering if anyone has any do-it-yourself fix it ideas for this. What adhesives have worked the best for people in the past? Any you tubes out there that can show me way of the seam tape? A anything will help. Thanks in advance.

Send it back to Kokatat. I had something like 210 holes in mine the last time I sent it in and the total charge was like 35 bucks + another 20 for the neck gasket I had them put in. I had seam tape falling out of the suit all over the place. You can't beat the price from Kokatat. Rainy Pass is triple the cost but local.

Jed- google the McNet corporation. They are in Bellingham. They make Aquaseal, Seal Cement ect. Call them and ask them about Melco (I think thats what its called). It's a heat tape that you apply with an iron, the same tape that is on there now, although it may be radio frequency welded on or whatever. Maybe they will sell you a small quantiy or tell you where you can get some (Actually Seattle Fabrics may be better).

You just carefully cut the delaminated tape away from the stuff that's still stuck down good, and iron on new tape using some material like a t-shirt as a heat sheild between your iron and the drysuit.

Actually, just go straight to Seattle Fabrics. Their website should tell you if they have it in stock (pretty sure they do). McNett is gonna require $100 minimum if you order from them.

Jed, if you'd send it to Kokatat, then go to the Palm Repair Headquarters for the west coast. Rainy Pass. They repair everything outdoor related shipped to them from all over the country/continent. They're in Seattle.

fu*k that. I say do it yourself. You can probably do just as good of a job, it'll cost you less, and it'll get done way quicker.

Other than using the Nikwax stuff what are some other things that are good for cleaning dry gear? Baking soda and vinegar? regular soap? other options? I have some of the nikwax stuff but I'm looking for other household items that I could use if I didn't want to go to R.E.dIe to get some.
Thanks.

Dr. Bronners...

I use that stuff on everything...  it also gives a pleasant tingle to my dingle.
Why not a dry suit?
