Rafts don't belong on this run. The sky is running though.

First off Im very glad nobody called me about joining in on the run today cause it didnt happen.

Sam an I hiked our way down to the rap station with lots of new tree fall everywhere but countinued down to the rim. Then as I was getting the rap ready the much wiser Sam starting scouting down river only to notice one log jam after another. So we saw  fullon logjams just above the 15footer no way to boat through then another mess of wood  just below the 15footer marginally boatable. Then back at the rap station we notice another big mess of wood just below the Ricks runout with no way through and Ricks itself had 2 big pieces in the drop itself. So we hiked out .  drove up to the bridge an yet another jam of wood right above Welcome with no way through  an wood in the runout of Welcome.
I guess your getting the picture untill about 3k runs down this run, its out !
Sam took some photos of the jams. He'll post later.

Photos are in order from upstream of the bridge down to below the rap put-in. There was dead fall all around, in the river, while scouting from the rim, and all over the road. There was also a lot of wood set just on the banks staged to fall in with higher flows. Probably needs some serious water to flush out. Needs a serious scout or a really good heads up plan for the next run down.

Wow, thanks for posting those pics up Sam... that's major wood jam after wood jam.  And to think how any single one of those could put the word epic into the trip, as if that place isn't epic enough.  Definitely glad Sam had foresight to poke around!   sheeze
