well i was able to acquire a marmot grid plus 4 season tent for half of what they originally cost. but i am having second thought on it. its on the larger side. i am torn between the marmot and the north face tadpole 23. i would like a 2 person tent so i can also use it to take on backpacking trips with the wife during the summer, but would also like to use if for overnight kayak trips, i have a liquid logic jefe. what are your opinions. should i keep the 4 season or go to the north face? below are links to both.

Even though I say choose the Tadpole, 4 and a half pounds is a lot to pack in the back of your boat vs a tarp system.

I would go with the North Face becaue it's lighter weight and is a 3-season tent.  Every pound shaved off makes a big difference to me when I'm backpacking.  I've found that 4-season tents are great in the winter if that's what you're mainly doing but in the summer they're just to hot.
