FORKS, Wash. – Forest Service Road (FSR) 2929 070, on the Pacific Ranger District of the Olympic National Forest, will close indefinitely to vehicle use from its junction with FSR 2929 to the end of FSR 2929 070. Clallam County crews will replace four culverts and begin upgrading FSR 2929 070 to become part of the Olympic Discovery Trail system. FSR 2929 begins east of the Cooper Ranch Road near milepost 212 of Highway 101.
“This partnership with Clallam County will eventually link several communities and provide multiple recreation opportunities both for our local residents and our visiting publics,” said Dean Millett, District Ranger for the Pacific Ranger District. “It is exciting to see it move forward.”

I'm pretty sure it won't affect access to the Sitkum. The proposed route for the Discovery Trail stays pretty close to 101 and doesn't get near the Sitkum.

I can't find 2929 070 on my topo, but access to the Sitkum is off of 29, not 2929. Pretty dang confusing anyway.
If what they are talking about really is 070 off of 29 on the Sitkum, I still don't think it will affect access, except the lowest (II-III) putin. The middle and upper are accessed by staying on 29, not the 070 sideroad.
