Hey,

I recently got a surf ski and I need partners for this winter. Do you guys know anyone into this stuff?

Hey Jim,
I paddle an Epic 18X which is almost as fast as a surf ski. I could paddle after work sometime. I live close to the south end of Lake Washington. Also http://www.professorpaddle.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=285 - Adrian Inglis  paddles a surf ski, he lives towards lake Sammamish. You could try pm him on pp.

I have had a few in the past and I am now paddling a S1-X. I normally paddle out of Gig Harbor, but I am almost always willing to do a downwind paddle somewhere else.

You should also try Sound Rowers. Where are you located?

Hey,

I'm in Kirkland, so my default daily launch is in Juanita on Lake Washington. I'm looking to get out in the sound more and get the better wind. What's gig harbor like?

I've been using the city bus system to run shuttle for downwind runs on Lake Washington and that's been working ok. But having partners would be safer and more fun.

I like to have a list of partners to call on. Email me your contact info and we can coordinate. Jim   warlickone@hotmail.com

Gig Harbor is pretty calm and full of boats. It is about 18 minutes to paddle around the harbor for me, but I also go out and surf the wakes of the big boats that come in and out. Also home to a Junior Sprinter club that does fairly well internationally.

I have been wanting to do more downwind runs, but I am almost always by myself, so I don't get too wild. Purdy gets some good wind and have done a few around there. I also want to go try some open water (ocean) sometime as well.

Jim-

You should also try to get a hold of Bill Walker. While he may not paddle one personally, I bet he knows some folks who do. Bill is a salt yakker and used to be part owner of SRK-- Anyway, look him up (try the WKC site and see if something happens)

Oh, and if you show up at this year's Deception Pass Dash, you should meet a few there. My homeboy Mr. Rogers raced one year and said there was a grip of surf skis at the event.
