The road is still blocked by snow...but it looks like soon. Maybe a few weeks.

Wow.
I remember hitting up FITW in late April last year, and I think it ran into July.
As long as we don't have a freak heat wave that blows everything out of the drainage it seems like FITW laps into August aren't entirely out of the question....

Here's what the road looked like on 5/20, which was the hottest day so far.

Didn't get a picture, but stopped by the entrance to the road on the Alpental side yesterday. The hot weather looks to have done a number on the snow that was up there a couple weeks ago: the big berm blocking the entrance is almost totally melted out and it looks like at least one high clearance vehicle has gone over it already - someone with a shovel and 15 minutes could clear a path. Beyond that, it looks like the road is passable. Although, maybe don't rely on my report 100% - it was a long weekend in Leavy.

I'm heading that way today, gonna bring the snowshoes and shovel and see how it looks. I have a listing in Issaquah, so i figure why not keep going up the hill and score a snowy lap or two. Gonna leave Kirkland at 2pm today if anyone else is down for an exploratory lap!

At FITW now and just finished shoveling the snow birm. The road is now totally clear! The cup is underwater 2-3 inches and the gauge is reading just under 800 cfs. Stoked! Conner just arrived, time for laps.

Scored 3 fluffy laps with Conner today, great day! There is wood hanging on the right side of the first drop of fearsome foursome, run left side( off the ramp )at high flows. Everything else is clean. We put on at 800 cfs and took our last lap on a noticeably higher 900 cfs. Btw, if anyone has a chain saw or nice handsaw I could borrow, I'd be happy to clean it up, the wood is easy to get at.

Shelby and I cut out the wood yesterday in FITW. The tree has been de-limbed, and you can now go right in the first drop If u want. Level was medium yesterday. Enjoy!

Low side of medium today. Careful with the delimbed wood on river right. Still in the eddie that you can drop into on #1 or 2 (depending on whether or not you count the first short ledge), so the plank to slide to boof to eddie move is still kind of out of commission.

Did a couple laps today. Would call it med to med-highish. Water in the cup, tips exposed. Good to see Brad and crew. Hope the show is good.

Checked on the level Sunday, and it was medium, with the bottom lip almost covered, despite it being cool and cloudy at the pass.

Cup rock underwater yesterday evening. Level read about 540 when we were looking around 5, and was rising. This weekend may be the last hurrah.

ScottH and I were up there tonight - low side of medium/high side of low (my favorite level). We took a brief detour up the valley and there's still lots of snow up the valley in the headwaters, so keep an eye on this one when/if the weather heats up a bit.
IMO there's still plenty of life in the run and the odds are good that it will run into August on snowmelt.
