what're the get-in and get-out approaches like on the ohane in the winter? do gates close at the take-out? do you have to hike from pavement to the put-in? how far is that?
------------- sitting all alone on a mountain by a river that has no end

you'll have to hike from the take out if you go to La Wis Wis. Go down a bit further?? and you can find a 4x4 road down, making it easier, but a bit muddier. Not bad though. I've done the 4x4 option with SOPBOATER 2 or 3 times, but can't remember logistics for that one. You might drop him a line. The walk up from La Wis Wis ain't that bad, it's just longer than the average PNW paddler really wants, but in the frickin cold ass winter right now it might just be the warm-up you're lookin' for!

Ya, I remember the hike not being too bad. I've never been in there when the campground was open, and I'm sure the yota will make it into the putin. I've taken 12 before and its about a 4 hour drive from my house...

the last time I hiked out I ended up walking to the end of the campground and schwacking up that creek to the highway with my boat and sh*t in tow. had to then drag my boat another half mile or so to the gate. if you're not a dumbfu*k like me though that hike out is no biggie.
