Looking for some suggestions for a couple of newbs to go play in a river. Finally have all my gear but not really sure where to go. I'm in the Seattle area but am willing to travel....but closer to home is good.

I've been to the powerhouse but I hear access isn't great any longer. Anything else anyone could recommend?

I appreciate any help you all can provide!

Green Yo-Yo is a good one / when are you available to boat?
The Powerhouse is a great run despite the hike now.
If you are looking to make a run, the Sky from Railroad Bridge to Big Eddy is very good.
The WW community here is pretty damn cool - basically you decide when and I know people will come and provide support if it is needed.

OH, welcome to PP, our little WW community, and the goodness. Welcome!
I would be more than happy to run the Yo Yo or lower Sky with you anytime.
I bet we can rally some other folks in the community to come as well.

Thanks for the warm welcome and suggestions! I'm usually available to boat on the weekends. I'm hoping to get out this weekend, possibly both days. Dale, I'll take you up on that run for tomorrow! I'll be in touch.

My wife and I are going to be doing some class II - III runs during the next few weekends. This weekend were pretty much tied up but the following weekend looks like were going to do a few days on the Grande Rhonde. Then one of the next weekends were most likely going to link up a Green Day where we put kayaks on my raft and pick and choose what people want to run. I plan on taking my squirt boat down into the gorge for some gorge squirting.

Even if we are running the Boulder Drop stretch of the Sky, if folks let us know ahead of time and meet us at Split Rodk or Railroad we will paddle on down to Big Eddy just to extend ou=r time on the river.

Snojunkie, had a great day on the river. Good to meet you. Shoot me an email.

James, keep me posted on the squirt run. I need to figure out a skirt, but I think I can get something going with it.

Not to complain about the cold water... but... is there anything resembling a lake inversion which might provide us with warm water in the Green this fall?

Warm Water in WA? Ummmm NO. Sorry. Skull cap and poggies / dry suit.
What are you looking for or needing for a skirt? I have a few laying around.
Cheers

A boy can dream, can't he?

I have a TBird that takes a pretty big skirt(weird, I know). Monster size, I think bigger than the classic plastic boat size. If I remember correctly, the rand style skirts didn't fit very good & I was using a ratty old bungy type, but I got rid of the one I was using. I think I have another ratty one that might work. I'll drag that stuff out this week and check(we've recently moved and in place of the normal chaos, we have utter chaos).

Thanks for the offer Tobin. I may still take you up on it. Look for a monster size bungy style skirt if ample room in the waist area. :-)
