I have one other person interested....   If flows stay in the mid 5's then I'm goinmg to head down there...  Let me know if you want to meet up.

Flow is really low right now - it was in earlier today and dropped out quick.  You could get down it but probably not worth the drive.  Check out the DOE gauge instead of the Stilly gauge.  Maybe if we get some rain tonight...

Thanks for the heads up Dave.  I've been looking at the AW gauge.... and yes it on the low side but I though I had run it at that level before.

I'll check again in the morning....   hopefully we get some rain tonight.  Its raining in Anacortes.

What else is running that is class IV.?  I was looking also at the Nooksak Horseshoe Bend section.

CC came up this morning. At 400 now. Looking at other rivers, it's probably gonna spike soon and drop quickly, so hopefully you can time it right if you head out.

Horseshoe bend is definitley a worthy run. Did that for the first time a few weeks back at about 600 cfs. That was a good first time flow to learn the lines and be able to eddy hop through the longer rapids, but a litle more would have cleaned it up a bit as it was a bit manky in places. I understand from locals that over 1000 it starts getting pushy. If you haven't run it before, be sure to walk up the trail from the takeout to see SAT and Bench Drop... and the short rapid in between those two.

Excellent...  I'm going to try and get out there while the flows are good...

The Horseshoe Bend section is great....especially the last mile.  My first time down that was at 1700cfs and I was able to punch the last 2 holes on SAT.  Not so lucky for 2 other boaters.  But agreed.... at around 1000 it's a lot of fun.  Just wish I could get up there more.

Next year I want to plan a camping trip up there and run that stretch all day long.  ITs great IV+ fun.

I'd be interested for Monday if the levels are still good.  It's currently dropping like a rock.

5:30 at the take-out if levels are good?

I could be down for a few laps on cc stilly tomorrow (Monday) evening. I can just meet you guys at take out at 5:30 unless anyone wants to car pool from the Kirkland area (would help with traffic that time of day).

Like the river?  The gauge just spiked to 1400cfs and rising.  And my wife reports that it's been raining real steady in Granite Falls all morning.  So I'm out for tonight too.  Maybe tomorrow?
