Hey All,

JP and Ryan Young are on a voyage to the Gauley River. In one of the funnier things Ive heard in a while, they have made it to Denver without using any diesel. They have been solely powered by veggie oil .

However, their 50 gallon drum in their trailer runs low and their free veggie oil Denver connection fell through. They are requesting any of us who happen to be a little bored at work or have free time on a computer to research people giving away free veggie oil. They would need phone numbers for connections in Kansas City or St. Louis.

So if you're bored, interested in low impact travel or just amused by the rambling adventures of our very own JP, take a second to look at veggie oil travel forums and let's see if we cant get them boys some more veggie oil!

Thanks,

Jon

P.S. There is a beer reward and JP's eternal thanks and gratitude for whoever can deliver.

P.S.S. Also, it may not be carbon neutral, but it did get your attention.

P.S.S.S. Why cant I edit posts?

found this list of retailers in Missouri

http://www.biodiesel.org/buyingbiodiesel/retailfuelingsites/showall.aspx?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1

It also has listings for all other states. It's not free but it's a backup.

Right on! Thanks a ton guys for your help- after calling most of those numbers it seems as though the retailer that Jed mentioned is scoring all the oil- so we ended up driving the second half on regular diesel.

still, 12,500 miles of driving without spending money on fuel is significant. Cut our costs in half, anyway.

I'm gonna kick down for some beer for you guys who stepped up to help me out (Aquaglam- I'll take you out to dinner!)

gonna start another thread to cover the details of our adventures thus far....

Yea because I think you meant 2500 miles, 12500 would be like Seattle to Miami 4 times...

1250 miles on veg, about 2600 total to the Gauley (roughly)

dood your trip sounds pretty funny. I am sure there was some tension here and there but plenty of laughin too!

yeah, I confess: tensions mounted when we were hunting down the spare tire due to two methods of navigating coming from two stuborn bastards...
but over all we had a good trip in the Hill Billy Fighter Pilot Land Yacht. Now we're both stoked to be here!
