So I'll be at the ball with my wife and baby, but without a group to paddle with. Is there a general area where people convene to hook up to run stuff? I haven't paddled anything over there but I know I'm looking for the wenatchee and peshastin, etc.

I also don't have a group to paddle with and I'll be leaving wife and kid in Seattle.

You mean I'm supposed to wear something UNDER my spray skirt? Where's the fun in that?

Cool, I know Nelson is coming groupless also, it'd just be nice to tag along with someone who knows the runs, especially peshastin.

Should be no problem guys. I will be at the camping area at the Apple orchard on Friday afternoon and we can get together for some runs. There will be lots of peeps with different skill levels and desired runs to go with. I am thinking about a possble Pashasten run on Friday afternoon.

I think the rally point will the be the Apple Orchard camp area. Directions are on the PP ball thread and everyone is welcome as there is plenty of room.

there will be ample opportunity to hook up with a variety of paddlers if your camping at the Ball.

Excellent, unfortunately we're staying in a motel in cashmere since we'll have a six week old baby with us, but I'll definitely make my way to the orchard.

I plan on getting some icicle laps in on friday. Would be nice to have a shuttle with folks but not a requirement.

Also I hear ya on the Baby.... last year some fools were up till like 4am singing on the PA system which is pretty dang rude and would be a nightmare for families. As a family man myself I will be the self appointed night watchman to ensure no nonsense goes down like that again. I will be keeping a solid eye out for the perps from last year .....

Oh and FYI , I have a full size raft that I will be taking trips down river with. if you have a family member that wants to raft we will get them on the water and you can kayak down with them. Just look for the black van.

So, you bringing one of them nifty inventions with a sheet of glass backed w/ silver? If not perhaps a similarly reflective surface such as the river will do?

Oooh Davey! I didn't know you cared

Regarding Peshastin: its a visual guage. Wenatchee is droppin like a rock last I checked. Likely Peshastin creek will not be in, even for you Elfers who like to scrape a few extra hundred trips off of the hulls of your boats. I won't go into the "Peshastin Creek is the kinda run you want to cover all the rocks with water lecture" (think I did earlier this week on another thtead).

But ya never know: it actually could dip up and remain in the vicinity of an acceptable low flow.

I am trying to get Obi Van Kenobi to turn off the Seattle tractor beam so I can escape the Imperial Clones. Once I hit the road I plan to issue a Cupdate and a visual guage report on Peshastin when I get down off of Blewett (early tonight). So stay tuned.

BrianP, I'm not sure I still have your number, but it would be great to partner up with you and paddle. PM me your phone number. I'm considering Peshastin as well, but jP is right, flows not looking good. It'll be easy to partner up with you (and a lot of other folks) for the Wenatchee play run. Do you have a creek boat? Is Icicle something you're considering? The first time I went to Icicle I scouted it for a few hours and then decided that I wasn't ready. I'm going to take another look again. This time I'll have a fair amount of support by other boaters that know the run.

Being one who speaks reversely, this thread had nothing to do with what I thought it might.
