We will hit the north fork, south fork, and possibly some play spots. I have some additional space in the truck, and would love to see another vehicle rally.

Don't forget a play session on the way out at theGutter. I'll see who I can rally up for it.

I think I'm in. Will have to make sure I can get the weekend off, but I'm almost positive I'll be able to go. That is, if you'll have me.... =) I can drive, if people want to ride with me, or I can hop in the truck, either works. I've got a wagon with lots of room for gear, but only one more boat, possibly two if I don't bring a creeker.

Meet up in Hood River?

I plan on leaving Thursday night (4 day weekend). Folks that can't take friday off may want to organize into another carpool. It is a holiday weekend, and fairly standard to turn into a 4 day weekend...

I won't be able to boat, but I'll be playing in Boise that friday night at a place called the Bouquet. At the moment the cover is only $2. I'll also see if I can't get the guys to stop by at camp on our trip from Boise to Pullman saturday morning (depends on whether or not camp is on the route).

Not to spoil the fun or anything, because this was a great trip last year - but what about the levels?

The levels are forecasted to be great! Ted Day who is the local hydrologist says the NF Payette should be in the 1,700 CFS range by Labor Day. I'll be headed there with many others for the warm water goodness! Hope to see other Seattle area locals there as well!

Looks like we'll be missing you guys by a weekend. We're heading out this Thursday in hopes that it won't be as crowded. Should be a hoot. Will let you know how it goes.

in the words of the illustrious hoovinator:

Mitch and Hoov usually come over for this trip. I called him last night to remind him... but like hoover needs reminding on where warm water and sunshine are to be found.

I seem to recall Hoov driving the whole way himself last year...

Does Hoov have a tanning bed in the back of his truck?

If he doesn't maybe we could chip in on one for him... I am thinking we would see him alot more in BC and around here in the Fall if he did!!!!!

Understood - I wasn't trying to undermine your point. The PA crowd has to stick together. Instead, I was trying to suggest that Hoov might like to carpool with us, for a change...

Nope. Since you don't want to boat with a girl.

Levels were good, rivers were fun. Heard lots of Rattlesnakes on the canyon section up on the walls after the Big Falls portage. Mind your step when climbing up the takeout....unless you go to where the rafts take out, then it shouldn't be an issue. Lone Pine changed a little since the last time I was there making the line more straight forward. The monster hole in Slalom on the Staircase section looks a little worse, but is still pretty easy to avoid....just don't go in it. Fun times for sure. We camped at Swinging Bridge CG about 5 miles north of Banks. If you're heading south on 55 it'll be the last CG on your right. If you heading N it'll be the first on your left after Banks. Really good spot in terms of location, privacy, etc if you can get sites 4-6. The only pump for water is at Canyon Springs (only downside) and there weren't any dumpsters/garbage cans at any of the sites. Fires were allowed, which was nice. Suggest eating at the Longhorn restaurant in Crouch one night. Great food for a good price and cheap drinks....need I say more? Hope all you guys have as much fun as we did.
