The rain on snow that we're receiving right now could make for proper flows on the soleduck this thurs/fri. if anyone is interested in heading out there, let's keep an eye on levels and see what happens. Post here if you are interested.

Sorry to say there is a huge log in the middle of the moshpit, actually the end of the foam pile where turns to a green wave.  The log is pointing downstream, appears the root ball is stuck under. It points straight down and sticks up to above the foam pile, clean log with no branches but it is pretty good size diameter.  Running downriver wouldn't be a problem.

We live this way now and the last big flood I stopped to check if it was working, but Ken was heading out there (this was in December) there were so many logs coming down as it was on the rise.  Have been there in years past with logs coming down but nothing like this. Then back again and the log (more like a tree) was there.  Checked last week and was still there.

Dont have a picture to post. Will check when out that way again, don't get online much but will post an update when I see it again and try to post a picture if I remember the camera.  Posting is slow with dialup for us.

Have a backup plan if you are heading this way if you don't like what you see when you get there.  Hard to believe it didn't wash out, maybe with these floods it will.

Well, the pit was in today! Thank you Ellen for the heads up. too bad i headed out there before knowing about the wood situation.  still had a good adventure though.  here is some video of the log stuck right in the sweet spot.  the surfers left side is still playable, but you'd better be in control.  Though even if you are, its not exactly fun and relaxing, like surfing should be...and i should also mention there is also a strainer just downstream of the surfers left side. gotta wait this one out...

here is some video of the log

Boy that is too bad! I was thinking this would be a great place for a trip this weekend... With the warm rain might run all weekend..

Thanks for the update!
