Oh, it's happened by now! Good to see you guys out there for the swingshift. Those Robe Gnomes were all friendly and frollicking in the sun today! What an awesome time.
5.2' - 5.6' is definitely my favorite zone. It was 5.2' on the dot when we paddled past the stick gauge.
First time I'd been in there since the day after christmas. Garbage is even UGLIER now than ever! And as AJ pointed out, the right side has blown a chunk out as well- I bet it'll flow smoother at higher flows.
Never the same Robe twice!

Dude that wednesday Robe Rally was 'da BOMB!
I'm glad Rob warned us so we could all Drop Sunshine before him so we could eddy out and watch in AWE as he intentionally paddled BACKf*ckingWards over the slide, BackBoofing it RIGHT ON LINE-- his line was as smooth as any of ours (and most of us had smooth boofs there). BACKWARDS...

ditto that, gotta be careful. sometimes storms like to sit in that valley and dump more rain than in other areas. ive been skunked by high water there when there was sunshine in seattle.

Just got back to the office from a Robe lap  . Holy crap did the old man rise fast. I rallied to the takeout at 11:30 met Rob, Abe, Chris, and Brett. We all knew it was rising fast, but we didn't realize just how fast, until we got the the canyon entrance, and the first big ledge. Above T1, Brett and Chris decided is was too big, and opted to walk out the trail back the the van. Rob, Abe and I dropped in and had an amazing day! It was my highest level in Robe yet, and i have to say... damn that was a lot of fun! We did the run in under an hour and the stick gauge read 6.4.

YEE MUDDAPHQUIN HAW! 6.4' huh? I got your text, Fish, but was out of town on "business"... Had I rallied, though, it's likely I would have sided with the hiker outers- and it will prolly be like that until I get a bigger BOAT for such conditions... anyway - back in town - let's um - go Boat'n (sum more)

I think length is the key for that run, JP, not girth. Part of what I considered before I hiked out (besides the entirely gray opaque raging river) Was that my boat is a great steep creekin boat, but every time I've put on Robe I'm always paddling to catch up from the put in to the first drops where everyone eddies out. I think I would've had a big epic in there. The Jackson Villian is coming out soon and I'm excited to try it. That said...

Thanks for another fine Robe run, fellas! it was nice to see a good turn out from greater Cascadia, and it was also nice to let most folks rally in the standard Robe way while some of us lingered to enjoy a more mellow pace.
