Tommorrow, Sunday should be a good day for a first trip in this year.  Jacks Pass shouldn't be a problem. Let me know if interested.  Its kinda a long trip depending on how its done.  Preferably laps thru the Canyon down to apx 1/2mile below Roostertail works really well as long as there's a shuttle driver or multiple vehicles.  Should be a good Medium flow is my guess:

Give me a call in the morning if interested:

Update:  So, I was sorely wrong about "Jacks Pass not a problem".  It's still not clear of snow as of last report.  I haven't tried yet, but the news is not good.  Apparantly that upper stretch of road/river got some of the same winter treatment that the Wenatchee basin got.  Lots of trees litter the road.  Read story with pics here:   http://skyko.org/
Sorry about the early cue and misinfo.  Hopefully this gets resolved before the snowpack disappears.

Dude, no offense meant, but that's why I totally lost interest in the North Fork. Paddled it a long time ago a few times before these road issues, and I know the run has its adherents, and its a great staple if you live in Index, but otherwise I'm not overly impressed w/ it.

Add the logistical hassels and I consider it a deal breaker. I'm wondering why more people don't run Icicle. Access is awesome, it is very road-scoutable, and there is hardly so much as a stick in play (well, there was a stick in Son Of Ricochete, but two Woody Debris Mitigation Specialists with two initial names dealt w/ it). Yeah, Icicle looks like it'll be high this weekend, but once its under 1300 it is super manageable.

Aww fu*k them high fallute'n minnows! They got better F'n habitat than I do!! Unless they like high rise condos where raptors can better get to them, they don't need that eye-poker stick (human eye-poker, that is)

Besides, with the water boosting up, that support beam has to have washed out by now, and I sh*t you not I'm sure my two initial companion and I have instantaneously IMPROVED potential habitat now. Those minnows gonna be singing the theme song to the Jeffersons n sh*t!

But, there we go again- we've gone an highjacked a perfectly good thread. Sorry Mike-

i can't make it, mike, but thanks for posting. the NF is an awesome and fun class iv run that i love, especially when you so graciously provide shuttle for everybody to limit the logistical pain. hope you find someone with whom to go.

i think everyone knows why i am making this post. just trying to be nice about it.
