Is anybody going to the chelan that doesn't mind some extra company? I recently moved to pullman and still looking for a group to paddle with.

Hey Paddlers!

Now that the 3 year flow study is done, its time to invade Lake Chelan for the first annual Chelan Gorge whitewater releases this Saturday & Sunday, Sept 15,16.

Rafts and inflatables are allowed in the gorge now too... we have three rafts signed up so far, and more would be sweet!   The PUD is releasing 375cfs on Saturday, and 400cfs on Sunday.  Water temp is around 70 degrees,  and the camping at the put in is free for whitewater paddlers.

Come out and enjoy the fruits of over a decade of effort by Tom O'Keefe/local paddlers and American Whitewater.   The Gorge is beautiful, the whitewater is challenging, the water is warm, and Senior Frogs in downtown lake chelan is awaiting our rowdy presence.

I've never seen the footage that the PUD has on their site - pretty neat stuff. Was this the first runs down the Gorge?

The Dam operator will show up around 10am to turn the water on,  we usually drag our feet and wait till about 11:30 or so as there is no need to rush as long as you have signed up online.  It takes time to sign autographs, have safety talks, and generally drag our feet waiting for the day to become warmer.
Yes, the first descents were done during the original feasability study over a decade ago and are featured in the PUD film you posted. Paddlers had a wide range of flows back then, and did several runs to dial in preliminary flow ranges.  Since then we have completed 3 years of additional flow studies culminating in todays releases of 375 & 400  with discretion by the PUD to vary flows +/- 25 cfs

Everything can be done online, Register for the releases here.

sign and submit Liability waive here.

After you have submitted both online, just show up and paddle between 10am and 5pm.

If you have any additional questions,  call up Kris at Chelan PUD,  she has been our liasion since the beginning, she is wonferfull and is a great resource.

Hey all,
I got a ride up from Walla Walla with a friend but he's headed to Stevens Pass for some biking. So, I was wondering if I could meet up with anybody at Lincoln Rock State Park so that my friend doesn't have to drive me all the way up.

Thanks,
Connor

Oh and Lincoln Rock State Park is on the way to Chelan gorge from Wenatchee: https://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF-8&q=Lincoln+Rock+State+Park&fb=1&gl=us&hq=Lincoln+Rock+State+Park&cid=0,0,13615793195916285912&ei=uk9SUNKROsmQiAKkqIGoAQ&ved=0CIsBEPwSMAA . But if you can pick me up anywhere in between Wenatchee and Leavenworth, I could meet you there.

Ok peeps; we are meeting at the put in now. If you registered online it's in the email you would have gotten from kris. Spread the word. Meet at the put in park by the dam.
