Pretty sure you are a bigger richer person then I am so... as a first generation hustling whitewater kayaker, third generation construction house painter... When was the last time you've kayaked & where?

P.S. I'm used to working with veterans, getting hit & cons as far as construction goes.... Been kind of getting out of thee newbish MMA, so i'd be happy to spar with you as well for a good gab. When you put the gloves on.... "no comment" - Learn

Nick ... your posts of late remind me of a house painter that has been huffin woolite after playing Edward 40 hands at a Frat house...

Speaking of, anyone seen Dufay or Brad these days?

Haha, thanks James. Was bored after a 12 hour day responding to Joes message. Gah, haven’t seen that guy in what seems like forever... Today was only a 8ish hour day remodeling an interior so it’s better now. These guys are going to make bank
I saw and talked to Dufay when having Dinner with some family on First Street in Snohomish. He was having a great time with his wife and what seemed to be her girlfriend.
Ahh, haven’t seen Brad since we were paddling Robe a few months ago.
Speaking of Robe what’s the lowest it’s ever been ran? It’s seems like 4.8 or lower becomes more exploratory. Kind of wanting to do a multi day in there also

I think the lowest I have done it is around that 4.7-4.8 level too. Not sure what it looks like at ELF flows... I would think spots like sunshine and garbage would be pin hazards.

Dominated by this weeks work process. Back from cigars and pool after a 10+ hour day. Hey James, When was the last time you paddled and where?

I recall Ned telling me years ago that if you're open to a different kind of experience you can run Robe down to low 4s.

Legendary Ned from Ned’s Drop via Boulder Drop? I want hear the story if you know it

I ain’t much of a betting man but if I was I’d place $50 on D.A. Paddling Robe at Elf flows. We’re talking at like 3ish feet or so

Yep, couple laps at 3.2 +/-. Plan on some portages. Bonus is Granite Falls at the end! Worth doing if youre looking for an adventure.....not if youre hunting for good ww.

Last ww was the Green this past spring. Last "paddle" was a trip over to Blake Island to camp. Not technically a real paddling though. Last real WW was probably like 2 years ago on the Coop & FITW while my kids were campin on lake Cle Elum. My oldest son is starting to have interest in learning to paddle so that might change things. My daughter (oldest) is big into Scuba so we have been doing a few dives every week for the past year.

Bonus points for the person that can explain why Scuba Dry Suits are never made from Gore-Tex...

Ain't leaving you hanging. I have a book to write about what's going on here. 11 hour day, girl calling me saying she has to call 911 for whatever the ever she's got going on so yeah man, different lives.. gotta bounce. Honestly, this is like a sit to chat kind of "why are you yelling, situation"

Oh my goodness
If you think I'm bonkers these kind of situations still surprise me to this day. I'm good, she's good, all's good. Taking care of someone around 100 pounds who likes to "happy yell" while being out of control has it's moments.
Kind of rad the rivers we go to with what's in our proximity. Haven't been to those rivers in some time now

Hey James/Nick. I'm still kicking. Shoulder is on the mend. Got an east coast trip with my bro, cous and their high school boys in July. Got some rain so the Cheat was running which is always a treat. Gave the boys the full 'Pyle experience. Anyone ever party with Rockin' Scott and the Blueberry Van? Best trip ever (until the next one :) ). Choring around the abode until the rains come back. - B-Rad!

That's the one. I don't recall much, was just discussing the viability of running Robe in IKs and he said something to the effect of you could totally do it and it would go really low like around 4 feet, you'd just have to be good with a lot of scouting and portaging.

Great/Stout Ideas -

This would make for a pretty fricken sweet edit. Especially with a multi day!
Haven't really planned to have the motivation to take a Ducky let alone raft on Robe Canyon. If you and crew want to bust out my Puma on Robe Canyon at a lower flow... I'd be cool to safety boat with you.    The only problem there is the floor valve has a slight leak. If I keep torquing with my experience then it'd rip the floor out so I'm going to need an expert.
Either way it would be rad seeing you guys make your way on the river regardless of what craft you use.

Talking about brushing off cobwebs... Back to this current remodel while wanting to work on whitewater gear to replace gaskets, back bands, ratchets, tighten some bolts, replace a floor valve, to figuring out a more comfortable way to stay in the boat

Problems to Solutions -

Sorry guys, but if something that almost ends me do to a gear malfunction... (Metlako) then I'm going to get heated. So here we go

If I was gifted the tools to hybrid a newish river running boat it would have Dagger outfitting, Zet plastic with Zets Toros chine to a more pronounced bow like Wakas. At least something along those lines. Mainly the chine with stronger plastic
Meaning the chine shouldn't go almost the full length of a river running boat. The chine going most the length of the boat doesn't allow us to spin out of holes unless getting throttled.

I also use natural features like I'm at a skatepark so what is it about Zet plastic in comparison to the other brands I'm familiar with?

My current functional kayak quiver is Dagger Longboat, Jackson Playboat, Zet Toro, Dagger Axiom, along with a few others I'm to tall to keep. So, I have some gear I want to purge here soon

Imaging hybriding the best boats for the best outcome during moderate flows

My mental state since he moved on from something cool has been Monster Mode while calling my boat Savage. This year and a half has felt like a weight has been slowly lifting off my shoulders to something a bit more moderate.
