Just read about the dude who is trying to set a speed record through the grand riding the flood. He was paddling a sea kayak, reportedly flipped some ways into it. Said to have broken his elbow and the swim took him roughly 3miles. He then hiked his sea kayak to the canyon rim, likely on one of the trails. Just what I've heard via facecrook. Crazy.

We launched the day after the last big flood ended in 2008. The beaches it created were so nice and big. We launched again a year later at the same time and nearly all of those big beaches were gone.
