Topic: Upper Green friday 2/3/12, 2:15pm @ t.o. Posted: 01 Feb 2012 at 8:43pm
Same as last week. Flows permitting (over 1000 cfs) I plan to be at Paradise at 2:15 for an Upper Green Gorge run. Hell, I may even bring a toyboat in case no one shows up, since the wood in Paradise was reported gone. But that sounds boring so I'll probably just bring a bike instead and roll solo if no one shows.
If its under 1000, I plan to do my little Paradise Jam down to Kay's landing. That will take the same amount of time to run that 1/4 mi as it will to run the Upper Gorge, attaining, ferrying, flatwater sprinting, and some Nature Slalom.
If you show up to run the Upper, you are independent enough not to need a baby sitter. Boaters who wanna hang back and let me probe: that's cool. Its just that, despite a few PPeeps going in since last Fri when I was there, I still don't know how wood may have shifted. HH Flows ramped up this last batch of rain. Not trying to discourage PPeeps, just be semi-solid and hopefully know the run somewhat. It'll be a late put on, and I just wanna kayak. I don't want an adventure.
Perhaps the best thing to do is contact me by Friday morning so I know you plan to go.
Bashed up torn down gates aside, I plan to follow thru on some Upper Green tomorrow. Got a added complication of logistics:
D3 wants to run the Lower Green. Solo if need be. So I'm picking him up at Flamin'G at 2pm. He's sposed to be all ready when I get there so I just hafta load up him n his boat. So I should be at Pair'o Dice by 2:20.
Drop off the Esteemed Mr. Rippey and then we can rally up top.
Upper Green. Should be decent if flows don't ramp down too quick. Cross those fingers.
