I'm just getting into WW kayaking, and I have a friend that really wants to get into it. He's about 5'7 175lb and needs all the equipment at this point. We live in Wenatchee so keep that in mind I guess. Would be willing to travel to get the right stuff.

Sounds like you guys should take a trip to Leavenworth and visit LMS (Leavenworth Mountain Sports). They have a variety of demo Jackson boats so you could figure out what's best. They usually sell their demo fleet at the end of summer and they have all the gear you need.
